4/2009 Happy summer

The days are getting shorter again and it is about time to take a little break before the nights get too long here up north.

During the first part of the year we at Culture Point North have had the opportunity to get to know a large number of interesting persons and their projects, including new partners from the Baltic countries. We have visited and been well received in many parts of our region, extending from Kirkenes to Kaliningrad, from East-Finland to West-Greenland.

While some of us are heading for a vacation, others are starting the busiest part of their year. During the summer we shall be able to enjoy exhibitions, performances and events of many artists and cultural workers, which they have used the past months, if not years, to create, rehearse, and arrange.

We shall meet them on our way, carrying strangely shaped packages and boxes, placing them in the compartment above our seats together with our more mundane belongings. They are on their way to festivals, concerts, exhibitions and performances. They come from all over the world and are an important part of our rich cultural life here up north.

At Culture Point North we shall take a summer vacation until August 1^st.Then you will again be able to meet us in several places in our region. For more information please have a look at www.kulturkontaktnord.org.
